MARDAN: The Blood Heroes Pakistan has celebrated its sixth anniversary, highlighting six years of work in voluntary blood donation, thalassemia prevention and youth-led community service across the country.

Expanding Thalassemia Awareness Nationwide Volunteer Network

Dr Mohsin Hassan, Deputy Director of The Blood Heroes Pakistan, said the organisation had steadily expanded its reach and humanitarian impact since its establishment.

He said its volunteers and blood-donation initiatives had helped support more than 47,000 patients nationwide.

Volunteers, district representatives and members of university and institutional teams participated in the anniversary celebrations.

Expanding Thalassemia Awareness

Dr Hassan said the organisation was playing an important role in promoting thalassemia awareness and prevention across Pakistan.

Its activities include encouraging voluntary blood donation and educating communities about screening, early diagnosis and preventive measures.

He said The Blood Heroes had also focused on involving young people in constructive social activities and providing them with opportunities to contribute to humanitarian causes.

Nationwide Volunteer Network

According to Dr Hassan, more than 15,000 volunteers have registered with the organisation.

The Blood Heroes currently operates through over 50 district teams and more than 70 university and institutional teams across Pakistan.

He said the growing network had strengthened the organisation’s ability to respond to urgent blood requirements, arrange awareness campaigns and assist patients in different parts of the country.

Dr Hassan said the organisation intended to further expand its operations and encourage more young people to participate in voluntary blood donation and thalassemia-prevention initiatives.
