Temporary Water Rescue Points Set Up Along Panjkora River

Timergara (Rahmat Ullah Swati ) – Rescue 1122 has established Temporary Water Rescue Points (TWRPs) along the Panjkora River at Khal and Rabat to address flood risks caused by recent rains. Director General Rescue 1122, Tayyab Abdullah, issued the directive, and District Emergency Officer Lower Dir, Sanaullah, supervised the setup.

Rescue 1122 deployed expert divers and trained local swimmers at both sites. These teams will remain on standby to respond quickly to any water-related emergency. Each point includes essential rescue equipment such as rubber boats, OBM boats, rope throw guns, life jackets, and life-saving ropes.

Rescue officials explained that the Temporary Water Rescue Points aim to ensure fast and effective operations during drowning incidents or other emergencies. They urged citizens to avoid unnecessary visits to the river and follow safety guidelines.

This initiative reflects Rescue 1122’s proactive approach to disaster preparedness. By positioning trained personnel and modern equipment in advance, the department seeks to minimize risks and protect lives.
