ISLAMABAD, October 29, 2026: Telenor Pakistan has secured the top position in cybersecurity excellence for the third consecutive year at the Telecom Cyber Security Awards 2026, organised by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
The recognition follows a regulatory audit and revalidation process in which Telenor Pakistan, a brand of Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML), achieved one of the industry’s highest compliance scores under the Critical Telecom Data and Infrastructure Security Regulations (CTDISR).
Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja presented the award to PTML Chief Technology Officer Awais Vohra and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Shan Haq.
The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, the PTA chairman and representatives of the telecommunications and technology sectors.
According to the company, the award reflects its continued focus on regulatory compliance, cybersecurity governance and the protection of critical telecommunications infrastructure and data.
The assessment evaluated compliance with security requirements designed to safeguard telecom networks and strengthen the resilience of digital services.
Speaking on the achievement, PTML Chief Technology Officer Awais Vohra said cybersecurity was essential to maintaining public trust in an increasingly connected society.
“Cybersecurity is fundamental to building trust in a hyper-connected society like ours,” he said.
Vohra welcomed the company’s third consecutive top ranking, attributing the achievement to its security standards, regulatory compliance and efforts to protect critical telecom infrastructure.
He reaffirmed PTML’s commitment to contributing to a secure and resilient digital environment in Pakistan.
The company said maintaining strong cybersecurity safeguards had become increasingly important as telecommunications networks supported a growing range of digital services used by businesses, institutions and individuals.
The recognition also highlights the importance of regulatory oversight and security compliance in protecting Pakistan’s expanding digital infrastructure.
Telenor Pakistan said it would continue strengthening its cybersecurity practices to support reliable telecommunications services and maintain customer trust.
