ISLAMABAD: In a landmark move to modernize Pakistan’s agriculture sector, Telenor Pakistan has partnered with the Ayub Agricultural Research Institute (AARI), Faisalabad, to bring research-driven digital solutions to millions of farmers across Punjab.

The collaboration was formalized with the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) at Telenor Pakistan’s Headquarters 345 in Islamabad. Digital Platforms to Empower Farmers

Under this partnership, AARI’s extensive agricultural research will be integrated into Telenor Pakistan’s flagship digital platforms — Khushal Watan and Khushal Zamindar. These platforms will deliver timely, research-based crop advisories to farmers, enabling them to adopt climate-smart practices, improve yields, and bridge the gap between scientific research and field application.

Leadership Perspectives

Ahsan Maykan emphasized the transformative potential of the partnership:

“At Telenor Pakistan, we believe that the future of agriculture lies in the fusion of technology, data, and research. Through our collaboration with AARI, we aim to empower farmers with the right knowledge at the right time via Pakistan’s most trusted digital agri platforms.”

Dr. Sajid-Ur-Rahman echoed the sentiment, stating:

“AARI’s mission has always been to translate research into tangible benefits for farmers. By partnering with Telenor Pakistan, we are enabling our scientific expertise to reach farmers more effectively through digital innovation.”

A Step Toward Sustainable Growth

This collaboration marks a significant step in the digital transformation of Punjab’s agricultural landscape. By combining scientific expertise with mobile technology, Telenor Pakistan and AARI aim to strengthen food security, promote sustainable farming, and build climate resilience across the region’s agricultural value chain.

The initiative reflects a shared commitment to empowering farmers, enhancing productivity, and driving long-term economic impact in one of Pakistan’s most vital sectors.
