ISLAMABAD, May 4: TCS Air has launched its first dedicated cargo aircraft by acquiring a Boeing 737 freighter, marking a significant step in expanding Pakistan’s air freight capacity and logistics infrastructure.

The aircraft arrived at Karachi Airport on Monday and was received by senior officials, including Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority Director General Nadir Shafi Dar and TCS Group Chairman Khalid Awan. The launch is expected to support faster cargo movement on domestic and regional routes.

Boost to cargo capacity and trade efficiency

The Boeing 737 freighter will be used to handle high-volume and time-sensitive shipments, helping reduce transit times for exporters and importers. The aircraft is designed to strengthen key freight corridors and improve logistics efficiency across Pakistan.

With the addition of a dedicated cargo aircraft, TCS aims to offer greater capacity on priority trade routes, along with faster processing and improved control over freight operations.

Expanded services for businesses

The company said the new freighter will enable more competitive freight rates and enhance services such as cold-chain logistics and express delivery for perishable and high-value goods.

The development is also expected to benefit small and medium-sized enterprises by improving access to air cargo services, which have traditionally been limited in the domestic market.

Future expansion plans

TCS indicated that the Boeing 737 freighter is the first step in a broader plan to expand its cargo fleet. The company aims to strengthen its logistics network and support growing demand for air freight services in Pakistan.

The initiative is expected to contribute to improved trade connectivity and create new commercial opportunities for businesses across the country.
