During the discussion, Tariq Jamil recalled a visit to the United States in 1998, where he said a doctor showed him statistics on spending related to antidepressant medications in North America.

He also expressed the view that highly processed and artificial foods may influence people’s mood and behavior, suggesting that unhealthy eating habits could contribute to irritability and affect relationships between spouses.

Encourages Traditional Home-Cooked Meals

The religious scholar encouraged people to consume traditional home-cooked food, including meals prepared with desi ghee, saying he believes healthier eating habits can benefit overall well-being.

He added that households should prioritize nutritious home cooking, which he said contributes to better health and family life.
