TANK, Apr 23 — The District Health Office (DHO) in Tank organized an awareness walk to mark World Immunization Week, aiming to promote child immunization and encourage timely vaccination across the district.
The event brought together health officials, medical staff, and local residents to highlight the role of routine immunization in preventing life-threatening diseases among children.
Focus on vaccination awareness
The walk was led by District Health Officer Israr ul Haq, who said vaccination remains one of the most effective ways to protect children from diseases such as measles, polio, and hepatitis.
He urged parents to ensure their children complete the full immunization schedule, noting that timely vaccination can significantly reduce the risk of preventable illnesses.
Health department outreach
Officials said health teams are conducting door-to-door visits to administer vaccines and improve coverage in the district. They stressed that public cooperation is essential for the success of immunization campaigns.
The walk was attended by Deputy District Health Officer Dr. Imran, EPI Coordinator Dr. Arshad Nawaz, AKU Regional South Coordinator Saeed Anwar, along with healthcare workers, lady health workers, and community members.
Community engagement
Participants carried banners and placards highlighting the importance of vaccination and raising awareness about its benefits. The initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen immunization coverage and public health awareness in the region.
