SWAT: Students with hearing and speech impairments from the Institute of Children Hearing Speech Impairments, Swat, have secured all three top positions in the Humanities Group in their first-ever Intermediate Annual Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Swat.
Muhammad Syam secured first position with 1,107 marks, while Muaz Khan and Muhammad Abbas jointly secured second position with 1,083 marks each. Areeba and Shah Khalid jointly secured third position with 1,082 marks each.
Students Receive Shields
The Swat Board awarded shields to the high-achieving students in recognition of their performance.
Speaking about their results, the students attributed their success to their hard work, their parents’ prayers and the guidance provided by their teachers. They also expressed their intention to pursue higher education.
Teachers at the institute said the results reflected the students’ sustained efforts and the supportive learning environment provided to them. They said access to appropriate educational opportunities and specialised teaching can help students with disabilities achieve strong academic results.
Institute Provides Specialised Education
Deputy Director of the institute, Dr Sharifullah, said the students had demonstrated their capabilities by securing all three leading positions in their first Intermediate board examination.
He added that the students had also performed strongly in Part-I of their Intermediate studies.
More than 250 students with special educational needs are currently enrolled at the institute. According to the institute, students receive specialised education through teaching methods adapted to their individual needs under the supervision of qualified teachers.
