Swat Seminar Highlights Implementation of Anti-Rape Act 2021

SWAT: A joint awareness seminar was held by Public Prosecutors and Investigation Police in Swat district for the implementation of the Anti-Rape Investigation and Trials Act 2021 here on Wednesday.

 The chief guest of the seminar was District Public Prosecutor ( DPP) Saeed Naeem, while SP Investigation Swat Badshah Hazrat Khan was also present on the occasion.

 The seminar, organized in collaboration with an NGO,  was attended by SDPOs, SHOs and Investigation Officers of all circles of Swat and public prosecutors and media representatives as well.

 On this occasion, the public prosecutors gave detailed information about the investigation of rape cases involving children under the age of eighteen, women and transgenders and said that under this act, the accused can be punished on the basis of evidence by conducting a comprehensive investigation.

SP Investigation Badshah Hazrat Khan said that Swat Police investigates on the basis of legal requirements and evidence and in this regard, it files a case after investigating including medical reports to the opinions of the prosecution and this is the reason why the police has been successful in such cases.

 District Public Prosecutor Saeed Naeem said that the investigation police and the prosecution are two wheels of the same vehicle and we strengthen the case by specially supporting the investigation department of the police in cases of rape of women, children and transgenders so that this scourge in the society can be eradicated.

Mr Saeed further said that since there are many difficulties in such cases, we expect the police as well as the medical community to discharge their responsibilities in such cases in a proper manner.

 At the end of the seminar, the guests were awarded shields while certificates were distributed among the participants.
