SWAT: A police constable was killed after a bullet was accidentally fired during a routine duty handover at the Peshawar High Court Mingora Bench, commonly known as Dar-ul-Qaza, in Swat.
According to police, Head Constable Jamshed Khan accidentally fired the official weapon while taking it over from Constable Saleem Khan, whose duty had ended. The bullet struck Saleem Khan, critically injuring him.
Saleem Khan was immediately taken to a hospital for medical treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.
Police officials reached the scene after the incident and launched an investigation to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the firing.
Case Registered
Manglawar Police Station has registered a case against Head Constable Jamshed Khan under Section 319 of the Pakistan Penal Code, according to police.
Further investigation is underway to determine how the accidental firing occurred and establish responsibility for the incident.
