SWAT: An Elite Force personnel was shot dead by unknown assailants in the Singota area, while in another tragic incident in Gul Jabba, a woman was killed by her son-in-law, in two separate incidents of violence reported from Swat district. Police officials confirmed.
Elite Force official gunned down in Singota area
According to District police officer (DPO) Swat Mohammad Umar Gandapur, the deceased Elite Force official, Hammad Ali son a resident of Banjot and currently residing in Sangota area, was posted in Timergara, Dir, and had come home on leave.
He was standing outside his house when unidentified attackers opened fire, killing him on the spot. The body was shifted to Saidu Teaching Hospital for post-mortem.
Police register case, investigate possible enmity angle
Manglawar police have registered a case against unknown suspects and initiated an investigation.
Police officials say the angle of previous enmity is also being examined, and investigations are underway from all aspects.
In a separate incident, a woman was shot dead by her son-in-law in the Gul Jabba area of Kabal Tehsil.
Son-in-law arrested after killing mother-in-law
According to DSP Kabal Circle Amjad Ali, the accused Subhan Ali son of Gohar Ali, a resident of Kanju, visited his in-laws along with an accomplice and opened fire on his mother-in-law, identified as (S), wife of Humayun, resulting in her death on the spot.
The deceased’s body was shifted to Kabal Hospital. Police took immediate notice of the incident, registered an FIR on the complaint of the accused’s fiancée, and arrested the accused within one hour. Further investigation is in progress.
