SWAT: The Swat district administration has reviewed transport issues at the General Bus Stand Qambar Bypass and discussed proposals to improve tourism infrastructure in Malam Jabba, officials said.
The meetings were chaired by Deputy Commissioner Swat Salim Jan Marwat and focused on public facilities, traffic management and planning for growing tourist activity in the district. The discussions are aimed at improving basic services for commuters and strengthening infrastructure at one of Swat’s key tourist destinations.
During the meeting on the General Bus Stand Qambar Bypass, representatives of the transport association highlighted several issues, including poor cleanliness, shortage of drinking water, lack of washrooms, inadequate parking sheds and insufficient lighting.
The deputy commissioner directed the concerned departments, including the Tehsil Municipal Administration Babuzai, to ensure the provision of basic facilities at the bus stand.
He also instructed officials to improve coordination among departments for better traffic management and smoother transport operations.
Malam Jabba tourism infrastructure discussed
In a separate meeting on Malam Jabba, officials discussed proposals for a Cabin City project and proper car parking facilities.
The proposals were reviewed in view of increasing tourist inflow, rising traffic pressure and the need for modern tourism infrastructure in the area.
Deputy Commissioner Salim Jan Marwat said upgrading Malam Jabba into an international-standard tourist destination required proper planning and coordinated implementation.
He directed the relevant departments to submit a detailed technical, legal and administrative report so that practical work on the proposed projects could begin without delay.
Officials said improved planning, parking and visitor facilities would help manage tourism pressure and support better services for visitors and local residents.
