Swabi Chamber holds 8th AGM, honors heroes of Gadoon cloudburst relief

SWABI (Mustafa Kamal) — The Swabi Chamber of Commerce held its 8th Annual General Meeting and award ceremony at Gala Mor Topi, celebrating contributions to Dalori Gadoon cloudburst relief and 2025 flood rehabilitation efforts. The event highlighted the Chamber’s growing role in disaster response and community leadership.

Journalists, welfare organizations, rescue teams, political representatives, and business leaders received awards for their outstanding service during the crisis. Each honoree played a vital role in supporting affected families and restoring essential infrastructure.

Chief guest Asad Qaiser, MNA and former Speaker of the National Assembly, praised the unity and resilience shown by the people of Swabi. He commended journalists and welfare institutions for their dedication, calling the collective response “a proud moment for humanity.”

Former Sarhad Chamber of Commerce President Liaqat Ahmad Khan urged the provincial government to allocate a permanent plot for the Swabi Chamber of Commerce. He emphasized that a dedicated space would help expand the Chamber’s efforts in promoting entrepreneurship, disaster preparedness, and social welfare.

The ceremony also featured panel discussions on business development, public-private partnerships, and local disaster management. Speakers stressed the importance of institutional support and community-driven action in times of crisis.
