The price of sugar has been reduced by 13 rupees per kilogram at Utility Stores.
According to the notification, sugar will now be available at 140 rupees per kilogram at Utility Stores, down from the previous price of 153 rupees per kilogram.
The notification further states that the cost of sugar at Utility Stores has decreased from 152.50 rupees to 139.50 rupees per kilogram.
Utility Stores had requested sugar mills to reduce the price of sugar, and as a result, sugar mill owners reduced the price by 17 rupees per kilogram for sugar sold to Utility Stores.
After receiving a rebate from the sugar mill owners, Utility Stores lowered the price of sugar. Utility Stores had purchased 12,000 metric tons of sugar.
