The Livestock Department of Chakwal district continues its efforts at anti-tick checkpoints to prevent the spread of Congo fever and protect animals from ticks. According to a recent report, 73 vehicles and 367 animals have been sprayed at the established checkpoints so far. The livestock teams thoroughly examined the animals and found no presence of the Hyalomma tick, which is an encouraging development. Officials stated that due to the spraying and preventive measures, the breeding of this dangerous tick is being effectively controlled.

Additional Director Livestock Chakwal, Dr. Sohail Manzoor, said that checking at all entry and exit points has been further tightened to keep the district tick-free and protect farmers and the general public from potential diseases. He added that Livestock Department teams are active round-the-clock and all staff have been instructed to further accelerate and enhance the effectiveness of the spraying process.
