RAWALPINDI: Pakistani showbiz personalities, including Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, Iffat Omar and Usman Khalid Butt, have called for justice and transparent investigation into the death of Hina Javed in Rawalpindi.
Hina was found dead in Rawalpindi on August 20. A murder case was registered on the complaint of her brother, Fahad, against her husband Asghar Imam, her father-in-law and a domestic employee. Investigations are ongoing, and the allegations against the suspects have not been proven in court.
The Hina Javed murder case has also drawn growing attention on social media, where users have called for a transparent investigation and accountability based on the findings of authorities.
Mahira Khan expresses concern
Actor Mahira Khan expressed grief and anger over the circumstances surrounding Hina Javed’s death and questioned the treatment of women in society.
She also expressed solidarity with Hina’s family and offered her support, saying she could not imagine the extent of their loss.
Hania Aamir, Samar Jafri seek justice
Hania Aamir and actor Samar Jafri also joined calls for justice by sharing posts from the “Justice for Hina” social media campaign on their Instagram Stories.
Posts shared by the campaign included allegations by Hina’s family concerning alleged violence and mistreatment. These claims remain subject to investigation.
Iffat Omar calls for official action
Actor and model Iffat Omar urged Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take notice of the case and speak out against violence against women.
She said government authorities had the power to respond to such cases and called for support for women seeking justice.
Usman Khalid Butt raises concerns
Actor Usman Khalid Butt described the details emerging from the case as disturbing and questioned whether Hina’s family would receive timely justice.
He also referred to previous cases in which public anger, arrests and demands for justice were followed by prolonged legal proceedings, stressing the importance of ensuring that affected families do not have to struggle for years to obtain justice.
Other entertainment figures, including Mishi Khan, Sajal Aly and Rabia Kulsoom, have also shared messages or posts concerning the case on social media.
The investigation into Hina Javed’s death is continuing. The circumstances of the incident and responsibility for her death will be determined through the ongoing investigation and legal proceedings.
