Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan in the opening T20 International, setting the stage for the two sides to compete in the first match of the series.
Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan said the decision to bowl first would help the team assess the playing conditions before batting.
Farhan expressed confidence in his players and said he enjoyed cricket regardless of whether he was playing as captain or as an ordinary member of the team.
The toss decision means Pakistan will begin the match with the ball, aiming to restrict Sri Lanka before chasing the target.
