Bollywood actor Sonakshi Sinha has publicly expressed support for education reform activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on a hunger strike in New Delhi, urging people not to remain silent over the issues he is raising.
In a video message, Sinha praised Wangchuk’s contributions to India and said he was campaigning for justice and accountability, particularly for children affected by the ongoing education-related controversy.
Actor Calls For Public Support
Sonakshi Sinha said Wangchuk has made significant contributions to the country and questioned why more people were not speaking out in support of his cause.
She added that, regardless of differing opinions, citizens should raise their voices on issues they believe are important rather than remain silent.
Wangchuk Continues Hunger Strike
According to reports, the 59-year-old activist has been observing a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi since June 28. Protest organizers say his health has deteriorated during the demonstration, with reports indicating significant weight loss while he remains under medical supervision.
The protest has drawn attention from public figures and social media users, bringing renewed focus to the issues being raised by Wangchuk and his supporters.
Aamir Khan Previously Clarified ‘3 Idiots’ Connection
Earlier, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan said the character Rancho from the film 3 Idiots was not based on Sonam Wangchuk. He stated that neither he nor the film’s writers were familiar with Wangchuk when the script was developed.
