Finance minister pledges support for KP’s financial claims

Islamabad: Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has assured Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of full cooperation in securing its legitimate financial claims under the National Finance Commission (NFC) and other frameworks, while stressing transparency and adherence to established procedures.

The assurance was given during a meeting at the Ministry of Finance with Muzammil Aslam, adviser to the chief minister on finance. Senior officials from both the federal government and the provincial administration also attended the discussions.

Officials exchanged views on financial and development matters, including the timely release of funds for projects in the merged districts, outstanding liabilities related to the rehabilitation of temporarily displaced persons, and provincial shares under the NFC.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa delegation highlighted the importance of predictable and timely funding to ensure the continuation of development schemes and meet administrative needs in the merged areas.

Aurangzeb reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to cooperation, consultation, and strong federal‑provincial coordination to address the province’s concerns.
