On the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, I salute Mother China and extend warm wishes to the Chinese compatriots in Punjab, Pakistan. Moreover, this day highlights the unshakable China-Pakistan friendship, which has stood the test of time.
Over the past 76 years, under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese people have shown unity and determination. With discipline and diligence, they achieved a leap forward — from standing up independently, becoming better-off, to rising as a strong nation. As a result, China has made remarkable progress in social and economic development. It has enhanced its comprehensive national strength and constantly improved living standards.
This year also marks the end of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan. During the last five years, China has contributed around 30% to global economic growth annually. Furthermore, projections show that China’s total economic output will exceed 140 trillion yuan this year.
In addition, China has achieved milestones in many fields. For instance, it has emerged as one of the fastest-rising innovators in technology. Likewise, in environmental governance, the country built the world’s largest clean power generation system and added one-quarter of the world’s new green space. Beyond that, its social welfare achievements include creating the world’s largest educational, social security, and health-care systems.
Recently, China also hosted several major diplomatic events. These included the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit 2025 and commemorations of the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Moreover, China and Pakistan jointly released the Action Plan (2025–2029). This plan aims to foster an even closer community with a shared future in the new era. Consequently, these initiatives show how China-Pakistan friendship is evolving with a vision of global peace and development.
China continues to contribute to humanity’s progress. It consistently promotes a community with a shared future for mankind. In particular, the Four Major Initiatives — Global Development, Global Security, Global Civilization, and Global Governance — together with the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, have gained worldwide understanding and support.
China and Pakistan, therefore, have always stood by each other. The 74-year diplomatic history proves that the Chinese people have remained in solidarity with Pakistani friends. Moreover, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has achieved strong results. As a flagship project of the BRI, CPEC has helped Pakistan move toward a more stable and resilient economy. Importantly, the next phase, CPEC 2.0, will further transform Pakistan’s socioeconomic landscape. It will also inject fresh energy into regional connectivity, peace, development, and prosperity.
May China grow stronger in its modernization drive and continue its path of development. Long live China-Pakistan friendship.
