LOWER DIR: Skilled young people are a valuable asset to society and can make a significant contribution to the country’s economic and social development, said Sheikh-ul-Quran wal-Hadith Maulana Asadullah Khan.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of Sher Muhammad Tailor Master Fashion House, located in the central market of Kalpani, Talash, in Lower Dir.
Maulana Asadullah Khan, District Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Lower Dir and a former Member of the National Assembly, said young people should not focus solely on obtaining academic degrees but should also acquire practical and vocational skills that can help them establish their own businesses and earn a lawful livelihood.
He stressed that society needs skilled individuals alongside degree holders and that young people equipped with professional skills can avoid unemployment and contribute meaningfully to their families and communities.
Referring to the teachings of the Quran and Hadith, Maulana Asadullah Khan said earning a livelihood through lawful means is highly valued in Islam and that Allah Almighty places blessings in honest earnings.
He said skilled workers and entrepreneurs can play a vital role in the construction, economic growth and overall development of any country.
Other speakers at the ceremony, including former Tehsil Nazim Riaz Muhammad Advocate, Mufti Iftikhar-ur-Rehman, Dr. Badshah Muhammad, Muhammad Raziq, Salimullah Khan, Maulana Javed Iqbal and others, also addressed the gathering.
The speakers praised Sher Muhammad, an educated graduate and skilled tailor, for his craftsmanship and appreciated his efforts to establish the modern Sher Muhammad Fashion House in Kalpani.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, distinguished guests formally inaugurated the fashion house by cutting a ribbon and prayed for its success and prosperity.
Special prayers were also offered for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and for the establishment of lasting peace in the country.
