Sindh to Distribute Pink Scooties to Eligible Women Soon

KARACHI: Women eligible for Sindh’s Pink Scooty initiative are expected to receive the vehicles soon, as Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon directed officials to expedite distribution in Mirpurkhas.

The announcement came during a meeting chaired by Memon to review projects under the Transport and Mass Transit Department, including public transport routes, new services and measures to improve safe and affordable mobility across the province.

Pink Scooties for Women in Mirpurkhas

During the meeting, Memon directed officials to ensure that Pink Scooties are distributed among eligible women in Mirpurkhas soon.

The initiative is part of broader efforts to improve mobility and access to transportation for women in Sindh.

New Peoples Bus Service Route

The meeting also approved the launch of a new Peoples Bus Service route between Larkana, Qambar and Shahdadkot from September 18.

Memon said the new route would provide transportation facilities to residents of Larkana, Qambar, Shahdadkot and surrounding areas. He added that the provincial government was working to expand Peoples Bus Service to other cities and districts.

Officials also reviewed operations of the Green Line and Orange Line BRT services. According to Memon, Green Line’s daily ridership has reached around 88,000 passengers, while more than 11,000 people use the Orange Line each day.

The meeting further discussed routes for double-decker buses and additional electric buses, with instructions to ensure new services begin on schedule and provide necessary facilities to passengers.
