KARACHI — The Sindh government has approved summer and winter vacation dates for schools and colleges in 2026, along with the academic calendar for the 2026–27 session.
The schedule was endorsed during a Steering Committee meeting chaired by Sindh Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah. Under the decision, summer vacations will run from June 1 to July 31, 2026, while winter holidays will be observed from December 21 to December 31, 2026.
The new academic year 2026–27 will begin on April 1, 2026. Admissions for classes up to Grade 9 will remain open from March 1 to March 31, 2026.
Examination schedule
For secondary classes, exams for Class 9 and Class 10 will be conducted from March 30 to April 15, 2026. The Class 10 results will be announced on June 1, 2026, followed by Class 9 results on June 15, 2026.
At the intermediate level, admissions for Class 11 will take place under the Central Admission Policy from June 1 until the last week of July 2026.
Examinations for Class 11 and Class 12 are scheduled from April 15 to April 30, 2026. The Class 12 results are expected on June 15, 2026, while Class 11 results will be announced on July 1, 2026.
Promotion policy for primary classes
The committee also approved automatic promotion for students in Classes 1 to 3 without examinations. Meanwhile, exams for Classes 4 to 8 will be held from March 1 to March 15, 2026.
The approved calendar provides clarity for students, parents and institutions across Sindh ahead of the new academic year.
