Mumbai Police have arrested Shiv Kumar, the accused in the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique. According to Indian media reports, Mumbai Police apprehended the main suspect, Shiv Kumar, in the Baba Siddique murder case from Uttar Pradesh while he was attempting to flee to Nepal.
Local authorities stated that Shiv Kumar was arrested in a joint operation by the UP Special Task Force (STF) and the Mumbai Crime Branch. The accused had fired six shots at the late Baba Siddique, three of which hit him, resulting in his death.
Reports indicate that three shooters were involved in Baba Siddique’s murder, all of whom have now been arrested. Shiv Kumar is the 23rd person arrested in this case, and he has confessed during interrogation to being associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
In his statement to the police, Shiv Kumar revealed that Baba Siddique was murdered on the instructions of Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi. Authorities also mentioned that Anmol Bishnoi had shared photos of Baba Siddique’s son, Zeeshan Siddique, with the shooters.
The 65-year-old NCP leader was a prominent Muslim political figure in Maharashtra, having served as Minister of Labor, FDA, and Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies. It is noteworthy that the late politician Baba Siddique was known for his close relationships with Bollywood stars, including Salman Khan.
