Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has dismissed as fake a video circulating on social media that appears to show him speaking in support of Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Rizwan.
A video has been circulating on X in which a person appearing to be Shoaib Akhtar is heard commenting on the situation involving Rizwan and questioning the treatment of the Pakistan batter.
Shoaib Akhtar, however, has rejected the video as fake. According to the report, the former Pakistan Test cricketer commented under the viral post from his official X account, stating that the video was not authentic.
The video has circulated amid recent discussion surrounding Mohammad Rizwan and his dealings with the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Akhtar’s clarification indicates that the comments attributed to him in the circulating video should not be treated as his genuine statement.
