Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently revealed that there was a time in his career when he had decided to completely leave Bollywood and return home.
According to Indian media reports, during the third Global Freight Summit held in Dubai, Shah Rukh Khan spoke candidly about various aspects of his career and personal life.
Reflecting on the early days of his career, Shah Rukh shared, “When I first arrived on set, I thought I was a great actor, and this belief made me overconfident. But soon, I realized that everyone on the set knew acting better than me.”
Recalling the moment he decided to quit Bollywood, Shah Rukh said, “I booked the first flight back to Delhi. I still remember that international flights were 25% cheaper at the time, and I couldn’t afford anything more expensive.”
He added, “I rushed to the airport and bought a ticket because I wanted to go home. I had realized that I was a terrible actor.”
The Bollywood icon further stated, “For me, waking up every day reminds me how much more I need to learn. After that realization, I kept learning every single time. Over my 35-year career, every time I stepped onto a set, I realized there was so much more I needed to know.”
