Pakistani film actor Shaan Shahid has once again clarified his position on working in India, saying his decision is personal and rooted in family background and political concerns, particularly the issue of Kashmir.

Speaking at a press conference for his upcoming film Bhullah, which also stars Mona Lisa, Shaan said he has chosen not to work in India out of personal conviction rather than opposition to others doing so. He stressed that his stance should not be seen as a judgment on fellow artists who pursue opportunities across borders.

Shaan, a prominent figure in Pakistani cinema known for films such as Waar, Khuda Kay Liye, Zarrar, and Yalghaar, comes from a well-known showbiz family. His father, Riaz Shahid, was a respected Pakistani film director, while his mother, Neelo Begum, was also an established actress. The actor said his family background has played a key role in shaping his views.

Addressing the issue directly, Shaan said his refusal to work in India is linked to what he described as personal and ideological reasons. He added that he respects the choices of other artists and understands the economic challenges faced by performers in Pakistan.

“I am not against anyone working in India,” he said, noting that artists often seek opportunities wherever they are available. “This is my individual decision, and I do not want it to be imposed on anyone else.”

The actor is currently busy shooting for Bhullah and remains active in Pakistan’s film industry.
