MARDAN: The district administration of Mardan has arrested seven people suspected of operating as unauthorized agents outside the Passport Office following directives from Deputy Commissioner Wasif Rehman.
According to the district administration, the operation was conducted to improve transparency in passport-related services and protect citizens from difficulties allegedly caused by unauthorized individuals offering assistance outside government offices.
The seven suspects arrested during the operation were handed over to local police for further legal proceedings.
The administration said legal action would be taken against individuals found interfering with citizens or attempting to facilitate passport-related services without authorization, particularly around the Passport Office and other government facilities.
Officials also urged citizens to follow the prescribed procedures for passport-related matters and avoid using unauthorized agents or intermediaries.
The district administration said monitoring would continue around the Passport Office and other key government offices to ensure transparency, convenience and merit in the delivery of public services.
Deputy Commissioner Wasif Rehman directed the relevant authorities to take effective measures to address citizens’ concerns promptly and prevent unauthorized activities around government offices.
