RAWALPINDI, Feb 25, 2026 — Pakistan security forces killed 34 militants during a series of intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan over the past few days, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday.

The military’s media wing said the operations were part of an ongoing counterterrorism campaign targeting groups it described as Indian proxies, including Fitna Al Khwarij and Fitna Al Hindustan. The engagements took place in multiple districts, including North Waziristan, Lakki Marwat, Bannu and Zhob.

Operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

According to ISPR, 26 militants linked to Fitna Al Khwarij were killed in four separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on February 24.

In one incident near Hassan Khel in North Waziristan District, security forces detected the movement of a group attempting to infiltrate across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Troops engaged the group, killing one militant who was later identified as an Afghan national, the statement said.

An intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat District resulted in the killing of three militants after an exchange of fire. In two separate engagements in the Narmi Khel area of Bannu District, security personnel killed 10 militants.

In the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan, forces acting on what the military described as precise intelligence eliminated 12 militants during another operation.

Engagement in Balochistan

In a separate operation in the Sambaza area of Zhob District, Balochistan, eight militants affiliated with Fitna Al Hindustan were killed following what ISPR described as an intense exchange of fire.

The military said weapons and ammunition were recovered from those killed, alleging that they had been involved in previous attacks in the region.

Ongoing counterterrorism campaign

ISPR stated that sanitization operations are continuing in the affected areas to clear any remaining militants. The actions are being carried out under the broader national counterterrorism framework titled “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.

Security officials reiterated that operations would continue to address what they described as foreign-sponsored militancy and to secure Pakistan’s borders.
