RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed 11 militants during a series of intelligence-based operations in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan over the past 48 hours, the Inter-Services Public Relations said on Sunday.

According to ISPR, the operations were carried out against multiple militant locations in the district, where security forces engaged members of what it described as Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khwarij. The military’s media wing said the militants were killed after intense exchanges of fire.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed militants, who, according to ISPR, had been involved in several terrorist activities in the area.

Sanitisation operations continue

ISPR said sanitisation operations were continuing to eliminate any remaining militants hiding in the area.

The military said Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace against foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism.
