In view of PTI’s planned protest in Islamabad on November 24, Section 144 has been enforced in Rawalpindi until November 26.
All types of gatherings, rallies, and processions will be prohibited in the capital city, with restrictions on assemblies of more than four people.
Meanwhile, a decision has been made to partially suspend internet and mobile phone services from November 23 in anticipation of the protest. Internet and mobile services may be disrupted in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and various districts of Punjab.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) will activate a firewall for mobile internet services starting November 22. This will slow down internet speeds, making it impossible to download videos and audio on social media apps.
