According to foreign media, a bizarre incident occurred in Argentina where the police mistakenly identified a man’s talcum powder as cocaine, leading to his imprisonment without hearing his explanation.
The individual, identified as Maximiliano, was traveling by bus from the town of Acosta Mendoza to the capital, Buenos Aires, when police stopped the bus for inspection. During the search, authorities found 18 containers of talcum powder in Maximiliano’s possession.
Despite the man repeatedly insisting that the substance was not drugs but simply talcum powder, the police ignored his claims, detained him, and sent the powder to a lab for testing.
It took the police three weeks to determine the true nature of the white powder. During this time, Maximiliano remained behind bars. When the test results finally confirmed that it was indeed talcum powder and not cocaine, the man was released.
