Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani is the third Caliph of the Muslim Ummah. The Holy Prophet took the oath of allegiance in return for the martyrdom of Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani. Mufti Dr. Qasim Al-Hashimi, son-in-law of the Prophet and a compiler of the Quran and a companion of the Prophet Abu Abdullah Uthman bin Affan Umayy Qureshi, was the third Caliph of Islam, son-in-law of the Prophet and a compiler of the Quran. Uthman Ghani was one of the early converts to Islam and one of the ten glad tidings. His surname is Dhul-Noorin because he married two daughters of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. First, he married Ruqayyah bint Muhammad (may Allah be pleased with him), then after his death, he married Umm Kulthum bint Muhammad. Uthman Ghani is the first companion who migrated to the land of Abyssinia, later other companions also reached Abyssinia after him. Later, he migrated to Medina for the second time. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) highly valued Uthman Ghani for his complete trust, his natural modesty and nobility, and the support he had given to the believers with his wealth. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave him, along with other companions, the good news of Paradise and martyrdom.
After the martyrdom of Hazrat Umar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) in 23 AH (644 CE), he was entrusted with the responsibility of the Caliphate, which he carried out from 644 to 656 CE. During his caliphate, the compilation of the Quran was completed, the Masjid Al-Haram and the Masjid Al-Nabawi were expanded, and the Caucasus, Khorasan, Kerman, Sistan, Africa, and Cyprus were conquered and incorporated into the Islamic Empire. He also created the first Muslim navy to protect the coasts of Islamic countries from Byzantine attacks.
