MADINAH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs has welcomed the fourth and final group of Umrah pilgrims participating in the Guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques programme, with 250 pilgrims from 21 countries arriving in Madinah.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the latest group includes pilgrims from Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, the Maldives, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Georgia, Russia, Bhutan, Australia, New Zealand, the Solomon Islands and Fiji, among other participating countries.
The arrival of the final group completes this year’s programme, under which 1,000 pilgrims from 65 countries were hosted in Saudi Arabia as royal guests.
The pilgrims are being hosted at the personal expense of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, according to the report.
The programme, supervised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, includes visits to the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran, Quba Mosque and other historical and Islamic sites in the city.
The ministry has also arranged comprehensive hospitality and support services, covering the guests’ travel from their home countries through their arrival in Saudi Arabia and their participation in the programme.
