Saudi Arabia has been awarded the hosting rights for the 2034 FIFA World Cup. On Wednesday, FIFA, the global governing body of football, officially confirmed Saudi Arabia as the host for the 2034 tournament.
This will be the first time Saudi Arabia will host the FIFA Men’s World Cup. The matches will be held across 15 different stadiums in five Saudi cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Al-Khobar, Abha, and Neom.
Additionally, FIFA has confirmed that the 2030 World Cup will be co-hosted by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, with three matches also scheduled to be played in South America.
It is noteworthy that on October 4 of last year, Saudi Arabia officially decided to submit a bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup. Following this, the country began preparations for the tournament, including designing modern and aesthetically appealing stadiums.
