Samsung has previewed a new display security feature called “Zero-Peeking Privacy” days before its Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25, where the company is expected to unveil the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra alongside the Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26.

Samsung reveals app-level privacy display for Galaxy S26 Ultra, moving beyond screen filters

In a teaser video released on February 16 under the tagline “We don’t scroll and tell,” Samsung depicts a commuter attempting to glance at another passenger’s smartphone screen. After a privacy toggle is activated, the display content becomes unreadable from side angles.

Zero-Peeking Privacy is a display mode that restricts screen visibility to the person directly in front of the device. The feature is designed to reduce “shoulder surfing,” a common risk in public spaces where sensitive information can be viewed by nearby individuals.

According to Samsung’s preview materials, the technology adjusts how light is emitted from the screen so that content remains clear only to the primary user. Those viewing from the side see a dimmed or darkened display.

The privacy setting may also be applied selectively. Instead of blacking out the entire screen, users could protect specific elements such as password fields, banking apps or messaging windows while keeping the rest of the interface visible. The feature aims to improve security for users accessing financial, work or personal information in public environments.

Galaxy S26 series expected at Feb. 25 Unpacked

Samsung confirmed that its Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. The company is widely expected to introduce the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26+, Galaxy S26 and the upcoming Galaxy Buds 4.

Industry expectations suggest the Galaxy S26 series will emphasize artificial intelligence enhancements, performance refinements and incremental hardware improvements rather than major design changes. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is anticipated to lead the lineup with expanded Galaxy AI capabilities and upgraded processing power.

The newly previewed privacy display feature is expected to debut with the S26 series, positioning screen security as a central theme of this year’s launch.

Full specifications, pricing and regional availability are expected to be announced during the Unpacked presentation.
