A district court in Chandigarh has issued summons to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri, and the directors of Style & Content Jewellery Pvt. Ltd. in connection with an alleged fraud case linked to the Being Human Jewellery franchise.
The court has directed all named individuals to appear on October 5 and submit their responses to the allegations. The matter relates to a complaint filed by a businessman who claims he suffered financial losses after investing in the jewellery franchise.
Businessman Alleges Financial Losses
According to the complaint, Chandigarh-based businessman Arun Gupta invested nearly Rs30 million (3 crore) after being assured of promising business opportunities through a Being Human Jewellery showroom.
He alleged that around Rs10 million (1 crore) was spent on setting up and preparing the showroom and that he fulfilled all obligations under the franchise agreement.
Complaint Details
Arun Gupta claims the company failed to provide the business support promised after the showroom became operational.
According to the complaint, the outlet supplying Being Human Jewellery remained closed from February 2020, disrupting product availability and causing significant financial losses. The complaint further alleges that six individuals associated with the company misrepresented the business opportunity to encourage the investment.
Company Has Denied Allegations
Style & Content Jewellery Pvt. Ltd. has previously denied the allegations related to the case. The court’s issuance of summons is a procedural step, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
