Bollywood actor Salman Khan has expressed concern over violence during student protests against an alleged examination paper leak in India, saying the demonstrations were peaceful in nature and that the reported clashes were regrettable.
In a public statement, the actor said he sympathizes with students who were injured during the protests and with their families. He described the alleged paper leak as a serious issue and said students had come together to demand a stronger and more transparent education system.
Calls for education reforms
Salman praised the students for raising their concerns through democratic means and said their commitment to education reflected positively on the country’s future.
He also acknowledged the support shown by parents, saying the movement highlighted the importance of protecting the integrity of the education system.
Urges issue not to be politicized
The actor said the dispute should remain focused on students and the education system rather than becoming a political issue. He added that the credit for the movement belongs to the students who organized and participated in it.
Salman also expressed hope that the government would listen to students’ concerns, support meaningful reforms, and strengthen the country’s education system.
He concluded by saying education should become one of society’s highest priorities, with the long-term goal of making India an attractive destination for students from around the world.
