Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has been named ICC Player of the Month for February 2026 following his standout performances in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, where he set new batting records and led Pakistan’s run charts.
The award recognises Farhan’s consistency and impact during the group-stage matches of the tournament, where he scored heavily and played a key role in Pakistan’s campaign on the global stage.
Record-breaking tournament
Farhan amassed 383 runs in seven T20 Internationals during February, averaging 76.60 with a strike rate of 160.25, according to official ICC figures.

During the tournament, he surpassed the previous record for most runs in a single T20 World Cup edition held by India’s Virat Kohli. He also became the first player to score two centuries in a single edition of the event, reaching the milestone against Namibia and Sri Lanka.
Award based on February performances
The ICC Player of the Month award considers performances within a specific calendar period. The governing body noted that the final Super Eight matches and knockout stages of the tournament took place in March and will be assessed separately.

Farhan said the recognition was special given the global stage of the tournament and the level of competition.
He credited his teammates for their support, adding that he aims to maintain his form in upcoming international fixtures.
