ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani rupee gained 23 paise against the US dollar in interbank trade on Friday to close at Rs 277.51 against the previous day’s Rs 277.74. However, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buy and sell rates of the dollar in the open market were Rs 278.50 and Rs 280 respectively. The euro fell by 82 paise to close at Rs 305.94 against the previous day’s Rs 306.76, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). The Japanese yen was flat to close at Rs 1.89, while the British pound, which was trading at Rs 365.39, gained 96 paise from the previous day’s close at Rs 364.43. The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal declined by 06 paisa 12 paisa to close at Rs75.55 and Rs73.87 respectively.
