Islamabad: Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, on Sunday extended heartfelt Easter greetings to the Christian community, highlighting the message of love, sacrifice and hope associated with the occasion.
In her message, Rubina Khalid acknowledged the contributions of the Christian community to Pakistan’s development and welfare, stating that their role remains commendable. She emphasized that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees equal rights and religious freedom to all citizens, underscoring the importance of inclusion and harmony.
Emphasis on interfaith harmony and equal rights
The BISP chairperson said that promoting mutual respect, tolerance and interfaith harmony is essential in the current environment. She added that safeguarding the rights of minorities remains a top priority of the government.
Khalid noted that Easter serves as a reminder of humanity, service and brotherhood, urging all segments of society to work collectively for peace, unity and national progress.

She further stated that the Benazir Income Support Programme continues to serve deserving individuals without discrimination, reinforcing the government’s commitment to social protection across communities.
