RPO Malakand Vows to Uphold Peace, Launches Crackdown on Drugs in Swat

SWAT: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Malakand Region Sher Akbar Khan along with District Police Officer (DPO) Swat Nasir Mahmood, said that the peace established in Swat and Malakand divisions is the top priority of the police and no one will be allowed to sabotage this peace.
They expressed these views while speaking on the occasion of congratulating the newly elected office bearers of Swat Press Club, Swat Union of Journalists and Governing Body members during their visit to Swat Press Club on Tuesday. The newly elected officials of Swat Press Club and senior journalists welcomed them.
RPO Malakand Region Sher Akbar Khan said that Swat and other districts of Malakand division have gone through a very difficult time and the people here have made great sacrifices for the sake of peace and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated.
He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police is ready to deal with all kinds of situations and is equipped with all kinds of modern weapons, added that they want to convince the public that the police will live up to their trust and no one will be allowed to take the law into their hands.
RPO Malakand said that we have launched a comprehensive campaign against drug dealers in Swat and strict action will be taken against the elements playing with the future of the young generation.
He said that the police are also taking practical steps against the sale of prohibited and intoxicating substances in the markets and very soon the business community will also be taken into confidence in this regard.
He further said that the traffic system is also being improved and steps are being taken to keep traffic flowing, including a crackdown on illegal rickshaws and motorcycles.
RPO Malakand Region Sher Akbar Khan said that the police and journalists are two wheels of the same vehicle and we want journalists to support the police for positive criticism and reform of the society.
Later on, RPO Malakand Region Sher Akbar Khan and DPO Swat Nasir Mahmood visited various departments of Swat Press Club and appreciated the role of journalists in maintaining law and order and the development of the region.
