SWAT: Regional police officer (RPO) Malakand region and District police officer (DPO) Swat were removed from their posts for neglecting security after a police van was blown up on the occasion of the visit of foreign diplomats to Swat district on lst 22 september. The inquiry team on behalf of the provincial government also reached Swat for enquiry.
According to details, on September 22, a remote control bomb exploded on a police van in a convoy of diplomats and attachés of twelve countries on Malam Jabba Road, in which one officer was martyred and four were injured, while the diplomats were safe.
Inspector General of Police Kyhyber Pukhtunhwa Akhtar Hayat Khan has directed RPO Muhammad Ali Gandapur and DPO Swat Dr. Zahidullah to report to CPO Peshawar.
Irfanullah Marwat has been posted as RP O Mlakand while SP Investigation Badshah Hazrat has been assigned the additional charge of Acting DPO Swat.
Meanwhile,members of the team formed to investigate the incident have also reached Swat and have started the investigation process.
