In all over the country we have the same problem, that most of the students cannot chose their own choices but they are trapped into the job oriented education that is mostly the civil government and medical jobs.

Unfortunately that thinking is changed in the 60s in Asia, when Pakistan was also ahead of most of the regional countries.

Especially in ear the late of field marshal Ayub khan, in his first fifth year development plan of the country in all the four provinces the state adopted the technical education curricula to promote the industrialization in the county and that was the time when the countries like north Korea and Malesia had also copied the above plans of the economic development.

Now it’s a history that till the era of late president Zia-ul- haq all those plans were successful, the reader knows that in 80s the Zia, government established almost 200 technical high schools in all provinces. That was a very successful project in which the students were not only given the education but also trained them in professional trades like auto mobile, electronics, carpentering, black smith, refrigeration and other technical trades but unfortunately that successful project was not carried on in future that harm our education system and we lost all of our directions in now the governments are planning two revive that system.

Yesterday the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur also hoped that the provincial government is planning to revamp the technical education. The chief minster on Wednesday directed a series of measures to revamp technical and vocational education in the province, linking future government recruitment of technical personnel to certified qualifications.

He also urged accelerated progress on economic zones to boost industrial activity.

Presiding over a key review meeting on the Annual Development Program (ADP) at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, the chief minister assessed the progress of projects under the Industries Department.

The meeting was attended by relevant cabinet members, the additional chief secretary for planning, concerned administrative secretaries and other officials.

The chief minister directed the authorities to pay special attention to the technical and vocational education sector, saying that substantial investment was required to provide employment opportunities for the youth.

He instructed that the existing technical training system be aligned with the demands of national and international job markets. He also directed the establishment of an endowment fund to provide scholarships to students in the field of technical education.

In order to enable youth to secure employment in international job markets, the chief minister ordered work on the international certification of technical training programs.

He also directed the launch of programs for the availability of master trainers to ensure the provision of quality technical training. Furthermore, he instructed that the linkages between technical training institutions and local industries be strengthened and improved.

The chief minister made it clear that technical certification should be mandatory for the recruitment of technical staff in government departments. “No technical personnel? Such as plumbers, electricians, or drivers should be recruited without a recognized certificate,” he said.

It is a good gesture, but for achieving the above goals it is important to revive the system of the technical high schools in the province and also gradually change all the conventional schools into the technical schools that will make available the top talent in the future to provide skilled labor for the earning industry. Therefore the chief minister and his team will take actions on the above discussed ideas to indorse technical education in the province. It’s hoped the government will take advantage of the CPEC special economic zones and will provide skilled labor to stimulate industries from the grass route level.
