In the year 2024, Rescue 1122 Lower Dir handled a total of 6,423 incidents and emergencies, providing timely and efficient emergency rescue services to 6,026 injured and ill individuals. Some were treated on-site, while others were transported to various hospitals after receiving first aid. Among these incidents, 47 individuals succumbed to their injuries either during transportation in the Rescue 1122 ambulance or upon arrival at the hospital.Under the leadership of District Emergency Officer Sanaullah, Rescue 1122 Lower Dir responded to 2,697 medical emergencies, 464 road traffic accidents, 209 fire incidents, 41 cases of gunshot injuries and brawls, 15 building collapses, 3 cylinder blasts, 325 recovery operations, and various other emergencies throughout the year.During 2024, the Panjkora River in Lower Dir witnessed 29 drowning incidents. Rescue 1122’s skilled diving team promptly conducted search and rescue operations using scuba diving, boating, line search techniques, and other methods. As a result, 9 individuals were safely rescued alive, while the bodies of 20 victims were recovered and transported to hospitals before being handed over to their families.Additionally, under the Health Referral Ambulance Services program, 2,640 patients were transferred from one hospital to another, including 1,562 within the district and 1,078 to hospitals outside the district. Rescue 1122 also extended its services to animals, rescuing several in need.In line with the directives of Director General Rescue 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Muhammad Ayaz Khan, and Regional Director North, Arshad Iqbal, the Rescue 1122 Lower Dir Training Wing Team conducted over 100 training programs and awareness sessions during 2024. Thousands of individuals, including students from schools, colleges, and universities, as well as employees of government and private institutions and welfare organizations, were trained in first aid and fire safety. Awareness pamphlets were also distributed as part of the initiative.
The Rescue 1122 Lower Dir control room received a total of 56,206 calls in 2024, out of which 23,805 were dropped calls, and 28,678 were unnecessary or fake calls.On this occasion, District Emergency Officer Sanaullah reiterated that Rescue 1122 remains committed to providing services without discrimination. Rescue personnel are always ready to serve the public day and night. He emphasized that the people of Lower Dir can access free rescue services 24/7 by dialing the helpline number 1122 in case of emergencies.
