Rescue 1122 intensifies relief operations amid heavy snowfall in Shangla

Shangla — Rescue 1122 has intensified emergency relief operations in Shangla following another spell of heavy snowfall, aiming to ensure public safety and provide timely assistance to residents, travellers, and tourists in the area.

Acting on the special directives of Director General Rescue 1122 Muhammad Tayyab Abdullah and Regional Director North Arshad Iqbal, Rescue 1122 Shangla teams are operating under the supervision of District Emergency Officer Malik Sher Dil Khan. Rescue personnel have been deployed along the main highway from Alpuri to Khwazakhela, where snowfall has disrupted normal movement.

During the ongoing snowfall, Rescue 1122 teams rescued vehicles stranded on snow-covered roads and provided necessary assistance to passengers and tourists. Officials said rescue workers remained active in severe cold and hazardous road conditions to respond swiftly to emergencies.

Emergency Officer Khan Muhammad is personally present in the field along with his team, closely monitoring relief operations and ensuring that the safety of citizens and travellers remains the top priority.

Rescue 1122 Shangla has advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel during snowfall. Authorities urged those who must travel to strictly follow precautionary measures, including checking road conditions and weather advisories before departure.

The emergency service has also appealed to citizens to contact the free emergency helpline 1122 in case of any emergency for immediate assistance.
