Rescue 1122 Handles 522 Emergencies in Lower Dir

LOWER DIR: Rescue 1122 Lower Dir responded to 522 emergencies of different types across the district during September 2026, providing immediate rescue and medical assistance to 479 injured people and patients.

According to the monthly performance report issued by Rescue 1122 Lower Dir, emergency teams handled 207 medical emergencies, 39 road traffic accidents, four fire incidents, four cases involving gunshot wounds and physical altercations, two drowning incidents, and 35 recovery and other emergency operations during the month.

The report said 231 patients were safely transported to hospitals and other medical facilities within and outside the district based on their medical needs and recommendations from doctors.

The Rescue 1122 Lower Dir control room received 5,392 calls during September. Officials said a significant number of these calls were unnecessary, potentially affecting the emergency response system.

A spokesperson for Rescue 1122 Lower Dir urged the public to use the emergency helpline 1122 only for genuine emergencies, stressing that responsible use of the service can help ensure timely assistance for people facing accidents, injuries and medical emergencies.
