SHANGLA: Rescue 1122 Shangla organised a one-day training and awareness programme for officers and staff of the Deputy Commissioner Shangla’s Office, focusing on fire safety, first aid, and effective response to medical emergencies.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of District Emergency Officer Malik Sher Dil Khan and aimed at ensuring the safety of human lives and government property through timely and coordinated emergency response in public offices.

At the start of the session, instructors from Rescue 1122 briefed participants on the establishment, mission, and scope of Rescue 1122 services. Officials were informed about the correct procedure for reporting emergencies, the essential information required during emergency calls, and immediate measures to safeguard affected individuals until rescue teams arrive.
Practical demonstrations were held on basic first aid, including wound bandaging, bleeding control, initial management of fractures, first response to burn injuries, and emergency handling of cases such as heart attacks and unconsciousness. Participants were also trained to remain calm and manage emergency situations in an organised manner.
The training also covered fire prevention and safety measures. Instructors highlighted common causes of office fires, including electrical faults, unsafe use of equipment, gas leakages, and flammable materials. Rescue 1122 personnel demonstrated the proper use of fire extinguishers, explained different types of fires and control techniques, and stressed the importance of identifying evacuation routes and maintaining discipline during evacuations.
Addressing the participants, District Emergency Officer Malik Sher Dil Khan said Rescue 1122 is not only an emergency response service but also a training and awareness institution. He said such programmes are essential to reducing accident risks and minimising losses in emergency situations.
The programme concluded with a question-and-answer session, during which Rescue 1122 experts addressed participants’ queries regarding various emergency scenarios. District administration officials described the training as informative and beneficial and expressed interest in the continuation of similar awareness programmes in the future.
