ISLAMABAD — A delegation of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) met the Consul General of China to discuss expanding rice exports and strengthening trade cooperation between Pakistan and China, officials said.
The REAP–China trade meeting was led by REAP Senior Vice Chairman Muhammad Jawed Jillani and held at the office of the Chinese consul general in Islamabad. Discussions focused on opportunities to enhance Pakistan’s rice exports to the Chinese market and deepen broader economic cooperation between the two countries.
Members of the REAP executive committee, including Muhammad Khurram, Sheeraz Ahmed Sheikh, Mohaib Moulvi, Hassab Rauf and Jatendar Kumar, attended the meeting. REAP Secretary Altaf Hussain Shaikh was also present.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed existing trade ties and explored ways to further facilitate rice exports from Pakistan to China. Participants also exchanged views on strengthening bilateral economic collaboration and improving trade engagement between the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, Muhammad Jawed Jillani presented a bouquet and a souvenir from REAP to the Chinese consul general as a gesture of goodwill.
Officials said such engagements are part of ongoing efforts to promote Pakistan’s agricultural exports and expand market access in China.
