Real Madrid won their 36th La Liga title after Barcelona beat Girona 4-2 at Estadio Montil on Saturday.
Real Madrid remains the team with the most titles in La Liga history with 36 titles. Closest to them is Barcelona with 27 league titles, while Atletico Madrid is third with 11 league titles.
Girona, who are currently second in La Liga after beating Barcelona, have officially qualified for the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League for the first time in the competition.
Carlo Ancelotti’s Madrid beat Cadiz FC at the Santiago Bernabeu this morning with goals from Brahim Diaz, Jude Bellingham and Joselu.
Despite leading in the first minute of the match, Barcelona had nothing for them against Girona, who conceded three minutes later. Robert Lewandowski converted from the penalty spot to take the lead again before the half-time whistle.
The home team scored three goals in the last 45 minutes to win.
With the league title secured, Real Madrid will now turn their attention to the Champions League, where they will host Bayern Munich in the second half of the semi-final at the Bernabeu.
In the first leg at the Allianz Arena, Vinicius Junior scored twice for Los Blancos, while Leroy Sane and Harry Kane scored once for the Bavarians.
The winner of the semifinal at the Bernabeu will play either Borussia Dortmund or Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final at England’s iconic Wembley Stadium.
If Real Madrid wins the Champions League, it will be the 15th European title, the most in history.
